Immigration requirement varies from country to country. If you are permanent resident of European (EU) countries then there is no need to file a visa for tourist visit. Visa is categorized into following subtypes:

  • Employee Work Visa: valid for one year, renewable and leads to PR.
  • Non-Lucrative Visa: Valid for one year and could be renewable up to 2 years. It is best for retiree with passive income of 28,000 euros annually or equivalent.
  • Student Visa: For study duration, extendable up to one year. If you are planning to apply for PR then this study duration would be counted half for PR. Suppose PR requirement is 5 years and you have studied for 4 years in Spain, these 4 years are counted as 2 years.  Students are also allowed to work part-time.
  • Golden Visa: Also known as investment Visa, best for individuals planning to purchase home of worth more than 500,000 euros in Spain.
  • Entrepreneur Visa: In Spanish we call it Autónomo, renewable for 4 years. Person who want to start business apply for this visa.
  • Digital Nomad Visa: Suitable for International remote workers and freelancers.

Flying to Spain allows you time-based visa residence. Non-EU citizens are required to apply for TIE immediately while EU citizens can reside for 3 months, after that they apply but with different application form.

Spanish health care system is one of the best systems in world. It has both private and public health care system. Heath care center are made to render health services to registered and permanent Spanish residents. Healthcare certificates are issued by these centers.

Before travelling to Spain, you must have international driving license from your home country. Transport Management department is concerned with issuance for driving permit. You can apply for permit online as well by visiting website of Director General Traffic (DGT).

Living in Spain requires to have bank account. It is crucial to have bank account because all utility bills, rental bills, taxes are paid through bank account. ATM withdrawal is free and mostly bank accounts are activated free of cost for students but some banks require 15-30 euros fee.
